At Urban Academy of Greater Pittsburgh, we believe that nutritious meals fuel academic success. Through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), we provide our students with delicious, well-balanced meals designed to support their health, focus, and overall well-being. Every student deserves access to wholesome food that keeps them energized and ready to learn.
What is the National School Lunch Program?
The NSLP is a federally assisted meal program that ensures children receive nutritious meals at school. The program follows strict USDA guidelines, offering low-cost or free meals while maintaining high nutritional standards. Meals include lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and milk, helping children develop healthy eating habits for life.
Urban Academy and the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
Urban Academy participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). As a CEP school, all enrolled students are eligible to receive one free breakfast and one free luncheach school day, regardless of household income.
All students enrolled at Urban Academy will receive ONE COMPLETE BREAKFAST AND ONE COMPLETE LUNCH PER DAY AT NO CHARGE.
NO MEAL APPLICATIONS ARE REQUIRED for free meals under CEP.
What’s on the Menu?
Our school lunch menu is thoughtfully planned to provide variety, flavor, and nutrition. Each meal is designed to meet daily dietary requirements while being kid-friendly and delicious. Our meals include:
Fresh fruits and vegetables

Low-fat or fat-free dairy options
