Urban Academy, founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1997 by the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and other prominent African-American leaders in civics, business, and education, maintains its mission of providing a superior education that nurtures academic excellence, leadership, and social values in students. With a thoughtful and culturally affirming curriculum, exceptional arts and STEM programs, Afrocentric pedagogy, acquiring a permanent facility, and launching educational initiatives like the State of Black Learning, we proudly continue as change agents for our community of learners.
